FAQ

  • How much does training cost?

The pricing for programs and lessons vary on the situation you need help with and a custom price is decided after the free consultation.

  • Can you guarantee results?

No. We cannot ethically put a guarantee on a dog, which has their own thoughts, feelings and emotions. We can, however, guarantee to provide you with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to continue succeeding with your dog long after we’re finished working together.

  • How long does training take?

That depends. There are many factors to consider when talking about the timeline of training. Every dog and situation is different. There is no “one size fits all” answer to this question.

  • What style of training do you subscribe to?

At Tailwind Dog Training, we don’t enjoy putting labels on our training, but for the sake of argument, we train in what’s called a “balanced” approach in the dog training industry. To paraphrase, this means that reinforcement is used to teach your dog what you would like them to do, and punishment is used to convey to your dog that you disagree with their actions, once they have learned what to do.

  • What types of tools do you use?

We use whatever tool will help improve the relationship, communication barrier, and bond with your dog. Leashes, clickers, harnesses, prong collars, halti/gentle leader, food, toys, squirt bottle are just a few of the most common tools used in training. The client always has a say on which tools they would prefer to use, or not use, which we will abide by, however, recommendations will be made by Tailwind Dog Training based off of the situation.

  • Do you travel for lessons?

Yes. We will travel anywhere on the South Shore and surrounding areas within 30 minutes of our location in Weymouth. Anything longer than 30 minutes is subject to a charge on the lesson, depending on how long it takes to travel to your location.
